Creative Brand Identity and Graphic Design.
I am a graphic designer who specializes in Creative Brand Identity, which includes logo creation, print, social media branding, and digital design for small businesses. I also provide creative direction and consultation for small business looking to refresh themselves. I love my job because I love every aspect of graphic design including pattern, color and typography.
Brand Identity & Print I am a firm believer that change is always good. Your logo is the face of your brand. If you are just starting out or looking for a refresh, my logo creation process will get you to where you need to be. By asking a few simple questions and creating a mock board, I explore the style of your brand. It is important for a small business to be who they are; it’s what makes you unique.
I also work with clients who have existing brands and need any of my graphic design print services. Business Cards. Letterhead. Hang Tags. Postcards. Magazine and Newspaper Ads. Billboards. Packaging. Hang Tags. T-Shirt Design. Invitations. The list is long so please don’t hesitate to ask if you don’t see what you are looking for.
Social Media Branding I help clients not only continue their brand through social media (ie. Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Pinterest and Google+) but I also help figure out exactly what social media platforms work best for you. Our days are busy and you could end up hiring a full time person to man your social media pages. Should you tweet every day, how many pins should you pin, how many posts should you do a day on Facebook, did you need a Google+ account? It’s mind blowing to try and keep up with it all. I can help simplify and teach you what social media outlets work best for you! I also can create well designed items for your social media needs. Custom Social Media Icons. Custom Banners. Facebook Ads. Etsy Graphics. Facebook Graphics. Twitter Graphics. Pinterest Graphics. Just to name a few.
Digital Design It is important to be consistent and recognizable on every media platform. It is my goal to continue creative design through all of your marketing efforts all the way to your website. I am happy to work with your existing website controller or introduce you to my website company that I trust to continue your new or existing brand online. I also create graphics for web designers as well.
What are my goals for you.
My clients are the best part of my job. They bring exciting, new endeavors to me, and I get equally as excited as they are about their journey. I find that I tend to follow a guideline I call the 3P’s.
Passion I have a passion for my clients and their business. I get excited when they bring ideas to the table, and I can see their vision and take it to the next level. Nothing gets me more excited and creatively pumped than meeting a client who is brave enough to start his or her own small business. The experience is never the same, and it is always great!
Purpose I have a purpose in your business and my purpose is to get you going. Once ideas are on paper, it is a visionary tool for your future. Lets face it: opening your own business or rebranding yourself can be a scary thing. There are many unknowns that no one can predict. What will help you are those little “hoorahs” you get along the way knocking down hurdles as you propel forward!
People Networking in business is key. Some of us love it, and some of us…not so much. However, we can all agree it is essential. My part in your networking future is to make you your brand shine. When you give a possible client a business card or direct them to your website, I want you to be proud to share your marketing materials!
My career began as a photography assistant at The Museum of Natural History in Gainesville, FL. I learned more than I ever expected about extinct animals with large latin names (that I still remember) and a little about photography too. During the summer I taught children darkroom techniques, I still miss the magic of the darkroom. Although I am still very passionate about photography and teaching children, I have never regretted switching my career to graphic design a few short years later. I am obsessed with paper, typefaces, colors, and patterns so this is the perfect place for me!
Seven years ago I had my first child and decided I wanted to work from home to be with my son. Afraid at first, but simply determined, I opened my own small graphic design freelance business and started working from home amongst various stuffed animals and toys. With supporting and encouraging words from my husband when frustration set in I plowed forward and my business is still going strong close to seven years later. Typebird is a one woman show. This year I finally got out of the house and relocated to my “big-girl” office, it was kind of a big deal for me. I currently reside in Fort Myers, Florida with my husband, our two children, two dogs and one incredibly clumsy cat.
On a personal level there are many things I am grateful for. I am grateful for having a father who taught me how to take photographs of nature and appreciate small town life, a mother who instilled in me how to write a thank you note and laugh at myself when needed, and a stepmother who sparked the creative fire in me and made me practice my penmanship incessantly. I don’t think she had any idea how far it would go.
